Commentary: Méndez contributed two line drawing illustrations for this book on Mexican slang and idioms by Armando Jiménez, issued initially in 1960 and reissued in many subsequent editions. The primary illustrator was Alberto Beltrán. Other illustrations were by Andrea Gómez and El Pueblo. Although the book bears a copyright date of 1958, the colophon of the first edition states the printing concluded on September 15, 1960 in an edition of 1500 ordinary and 100 deluxe copies. El ilustrador principal fue Alberto Beltrán. Otras ilustraciones fueron realizadas por Andrea Gómez y El Pueblo. Aunque la el libro lleva una fecha de derechos de autor de 1958, el colofón de la primera edición indica que la impresión concluyó el 15 de septiembre de 1960, en una tirada de 1500 ejemplares ordinarios y 100 de lujo.
