Cataloging note: Although labels on the verso of the impression held by the Museo Nacional de la Estampa, Mexico City, give the title of each image as “Ilustración para A la orilla de este río,” these images do not actually appear in the book. The upper right image is a variant of the viñeta accompanying the preface. The other images are not closely related to images in the book. The lower right image, which depicts a traditional ceremonial dance, is related to the series of 11 etchings of festivities in Tabasco, record nos. 808-818.
