Commentary:  Gregorio Cárdenas Hernández  (1915-1999) was a chemistry student and serial killer who was convicted of the murder of four young women in August and September of 1942. His case created a press sensation. He was sentenced to life imprisonment but was released in 1976, became a lawyer, and died a natural death at the age of 84. (Peter Schneider)
