Cataloging note: The subject is the actor Mario Almada (1922-2016), although the costume of a Mexican army general during the time of the Mexican Revolution does not correspond to a known role of his. Almada is not credited with an appearance in the film Un Dorado de Pancho Villa (dir. Emilio Fernández), for which Méndez made several similar prints. An impression in the collection of the Museo del Estanquillo, Mexico City, is dated 1968 in graphite below the signature but a notation on the verso gives the date as 1966. Un Dorado de Pancho Villa was released in 1967.
